What this means in plain terms

When a business needs to run servers, store data, or host applications, it has two basic choices: build and run its own server room, or place that equipment inside a purpose-built facility run by a specialist. The second option — colocation — is almost always safer and cheaper once a business grows past a small scale, because a purpose-built data centre has redundant power, cooling, physical security, and trained staff on-site around the clock.

Hispar Networks operates exactly this kind of facility, and unlike many providers in the market, Hispar owns and engineered the building itself rather than leasing space inside someone else's.

Greenfield SDN & the Cisco ACI Fabric

A traditional data centre network is built up over years, with switches and cabling added piecemeal as needs change — leaving inconsistent performance and a network that's hard to reconfigure. Hispar's facility was instead built as a "greenfield" deployment: designed and constructed from a blank slate around a single, modern architecture from day one.

That architecture is Software-Defined Networking (SDN) on a 100 gigabit-per-second Cisco ACI fabric — meaning the network's behaviour is controlled centrally through software policy rather than manually configured, switch by switch.

Disaster Recovery Footprint

Hispar's disaster recovery (DR) strategy spans three cities. The primary data centre and headquarters sit in Lahore, with metro-area DR capability available within the same city for the fastest possible failover, and dedicated DR sites in Karachi and Islamabad providing geographic separation in the event of a regional outage.

Every cloud and data centre tenant operates under RTO/RPO-defined SLAs — meaning the maximum acceptable time to restore service (RTO) and the maximum acceptable amount of data loss measured in time (RPO) are explicitly agreed and contracted, not left as a vague promise.
